Humble Beginnings as a Railroad Community Church
St. Joseph Parish: The First 100 Years
At the turn of the twentieth century, the small rural community of Crescent Springs, Kentucky began to prosper. The Cincinnati Southern Railroad, which ran from Cincinnati, Ohio to Chattanooga, Tennessee passed through the small town.

The railroad community of Crescent Springs felt the need for a Catholic Church as early as 1909. Click below to read more about how a group of Catholic families, most of whom were parishioners of other parishes, formed a committee to found a new parish in their own community — and in turn, the creation of St. Joseph Parish and School.
